Overview
The NC120 News Editing with Media Composer course introduces an in-depth look into the workflow of editing nonlinear video and audio to a news story originated through a newsroom computer system (NRCS) using Media Composer with Avid Media Composer | NewsCutter Option. Basic interactions with workgroup components such as Avid MediaCentral | Production and Newsroom Management, Avid NEXIS, and the NRCS tool are also introduced within the course.
This course prepares candidates wishing to sit the Avid Certified | Media Composer News Specialist certification exam.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Learn the core Avid news workflow
- Understand the basic structure and user interface of Media Composer
- Learn video editing techniques including trimming sequences, recording, editing and adjustment of audio within a sequence
- Add news based video effects
- Acquire an understanding of where and how to output completed news packages
- Gain knowledge of integration and workflows of the Avid News option using the NRCS tool
- Learn to manage media with shared storage and assets in Avid NEXIS as well as Avid MediaCentral, helping to outline the wider workflows and production processes associated with a larger news environment
- Be ready to sit the Avid Certified User: Media Composer | NewsCutter Option certification exam
