How to get current with Sibelius
Every new Sibelius license comes with access to the latest software updates included for a period of time. We release new features and improvements fairly regularly (every month or so), and you get these as part of your initial purchase.
If you have a subscription license, you will get these updates included at no additional cost.
If you have a perpetual license, you receive 1 year of updates included when you first purchase the license. This update plan is renewable each year.
To check for which type of license you own—and when your update plan renews—head over to your Avid Account to view your products.
Some of the benefits of staying current include:
- Access to the latest features, bug fixes, and compatibility
- The ability to unlock features in our FREE iPhone/iPad app, so you can compose and review scores on the go
- The ability to share music online using Sibelius Cloud Sharing
- Access to online technical help (Sibelius Ultimate only)
If your update plan expires, don't worry—you can get current again by visiting your Avid Account. You have a 30-day grace period after your plan expires to renew at the regular renewal price. After 30 days, you can purchase a new plan at any time (for roughly 50% more) to get current once again, and then renew at the regular price when it’s that time.
For Sibelius Ultimate, you have two options to get current—one that gives you 1 year of updates and support, and another cost-effective option that gives you 3 years. | |
For Sibelius Artist, you have only the 1-year option, which provides updates. |
If you have an older version of Sibelius, see this handy guide to find the right upgrade for you.
If you need help upgrading, you can create a case with the support team and request a call-back. This team has excellent knowledge of the licensing and registration process and has tools to remotely diagnose issues and help you get up and running.
Once you’re up to date again, please spend a while checking out all the great things that have been released in Sibelius since you last updated your software.
Happy scoring!
