Finale to Sibelius Crossgrade
Welcome Finale Users
MakeMusic has announced the end of Finale on August 26, 2024. Here at Sibelius, we are sad to hear of a company in the notation space ceasing development.
To this end, we want to offer Finale users a new home with Sibelius as your music notation software; one that’s built for the future, where you can continue making music on any device. We are here for you!
We are offering two special crossgrades to Sibelius Ultimate for all Finale users:
- $149 perpetual license with one year of updates included (75% off!)
- $99/year subscription (special price for two years, then $199 after that)
How the Crossgrade Works
To redeem your offer:1. Access the offer here or through your local reseller.
2. After purchasing through avid.com you are guided to your my.avid.com account. If you purchased through a reseller, head to www.avid.com/register to register your license with Avid.
3. In your account, you will be asked to enter your Finale serial number to verify your crossgrade eligibility.
4. Once complete, you will have a new license to Sibelius Ultimate!
A Perpetual License of Sibelius Ultimate
When you buy a license of Sibelius, you receive the very latest version of Sibelius that’s available. Your license will last forever, and will never expire. You also get one year of future upgrades too, meaning you’ll get access to the features and improvements we release over the next 12 months. We typically release an update to Sibelius every few months covering new workflows and bug fixes too.
In the first 12 months, you also get access to Sibelius for mobile and Sibelius Cloud Sharing. Our mobile app lets you create and edit music on the go, on iPhone, iPad, Android phones & tablets, and Chromebooks too. Sibelius Cloud Sharing is a great way to share music from Sibelius on desktop to friends, colleagues and even to embed music on your own website.
After the initial 12 months, you will of course keep your Sibelius Ultimate license, and you can renew your update plan for another year to receive another year of upgrades, access to Sibelius on mobile, and Sibelius Cloud Sharing too.
On Subscriptions
A subscription license always gives you access to the latest version of Sibelius. This is crucial for keeping up to date with operating system changes or critical bug fixes that are released constantly. It also gives you the latest cutting-edge features from our brilliant, dedicated engineers. If for any reason your subscription period ends, your files remain unaffected and can still be opened; you won’t lose access to your music.
If you don’t have an active license, Sibelius will open as Sibelius First, the free tier of Sibelius. There is no separate download or downgrade required, it all happens automatically. With Sibelius First you can:
- Write music up to four staves.
Open any score with more than four staves in the read-only “Review Mode.” Playback your score. Review, annotate, and add comments and highlights. Print your score.
